We are entering the final stages of 2.0 testing. We have two brave
schools acting as a vanguard, Baylor College of Medicine and Wheaton
College. I would like to extend my gratitude to them -- they have the
unenviable task of sifting out the last bugs we were not able to find
in testing.
We expect that we will be releasing 2.0 on Monday, the 18th. This
upcoming Monday. Of course, this is subject to change without notice;
if we find bad bugs we aren't able to fix, we will be pushing that
date back.
The features and fixes in 2.0 are described in
http://support.webcheckout.net/releases/release-2.0.shtml
Following the 2.0 release, there will be rapid point releases to fix
bugs, those will be called 2.0.1, 2.0.2, etc. At some point we will
declare the system "stable" and ready for general release. Generally
this is at 2.0.2 or 2.0.3 (2nd or 3rd point release). At that point,
we will be upgrading everyone who is paid and in good standing (in
short, everyone).
I'd like to thank all our customers for their patience, especially if
you are experiencing bugs in 1.8.x which are fixed in 2.0, or if you
are waiting for some of the features in 2.0. I'd like to thank
especially our trusty testers, both those on our payroll and those
customers who voluntarily spend time to help make sure the bugs are
found. Special mention here should go to the School of the Art
Institute of Chicago, who help with testing immeasurably.
If anyone wants to contribute to testing, they should go to
http://support.webcheckout.net/testing.shtml
and follow the instructions there, join the mailing list, etc.
There will be an official release annoucement when the release is
ready; on Monday, if we push back release, I will send an update here.
